Mister Splashy Pants

In 2007, Greenpeace, the environmental organization, started to track a whale in the Japan Sea. The organization wanted to alert the opinion about Japanese fishermen that planned to kill over than 50 whales. 
In order to create links between the crowd and the whale, Greenpeace launched a poll about the whale's name. Every names suggested were ancient sea gods' names, till someone proposed “Mister Splashy Pants” and put it on the website Reddit.com...
